Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains what information FutureTech Auto, LLC, a Nevada limited liability company with its principal place of business at 2511 Eagles Nest Ct, Midlothian, Texas 76065, trading as EVPro+ (“we,” “us,” “our”), collects when you use BATTSCAN, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

It covers all of the following:

  • Our website at https://batt-scan.com, including purchase transactions
  • The BATTSCAN application on the mobile device using the App
  • The BATTSCAN OBD BATTSCAN Hardware Device ID# and the data it reads from a vehicle
  • Your user account and the reporting portal
  • Support communications.

BATTSCAN is a professional diagnostic tool. Individuals using this product during the course of business may include but not limited to automotive technicians, shop owners, fleet operators, preowned vehicle sellers, maintenance teams, and vehicle inspectors

2. Information We Collect

2.1  Information you provide us
  • Account information — name, email address, phone number, and password. Each BATTSCAN device ID is registered to one unique email account.
  • Business information — business name, business address, phone, and as applicable other locations.
  • Purchase information — billing and shipping address, order history, and subscription status. Credit Card details are entered directly with our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.
  • Support information — anything you send us in a support request, including descriptions, screenshots, and attachments.
2.2  Vehicle and test information

When you run a test, the BATTSCAN Hardware reads data from the vehicle and the application records the information that includes:

  • Vehicle identification number (VIN), year, make, and model
  • High-voltage battery data captured during the test, including performance under load
  • Test conditions, results, timestamps, and whether the test completed or terminated
  • The registered account and device ID# that performed the test

About vehicle owners. A vehicle you test using BATTSCAN usually belongs to the vehicles owner. The unique VIN # is linked to a specific vehicle. We treat VINs and test data as information that may relate to an identifiable person provided by you the BATTSCAN user and handle it accordingly. If you enter a customer’s name or contact details into a report, you take full responsibility for entering this data in BATTSCAN system.

What we do not read. BATTSCAN reads high-voltage battery data through the vehicle’s diagnostic port. It does not read airbag, collision, or event data recorder information, and it does not record how the vehicle is driven outside the test procedure.

Why the VIN is shown. The VIN appears in the BATTSCAN App during the testing process and is included on the finished test report. This is intentional for making a specific vehicle (VIN#) easy to locate again in your stored reports while providing you with a record to store in your managed files and operational systems.

About shared accounts. Where several people at a business use the same registered BATTSCAN Account and Device ID#; test results are recorded, stored on that account and device, and not on an individual’s name.

2.3  Device and application information
  • Device type, operating system version, and app version;
  • A unique device identifier # used to register the device to your BATTSCAN subscription
  • Bluetooth connection status with the BATTSCAN Hardware/Device ID#
  • Application error and stability logs, including a report generated if the app closes unexpectedly
  • IP address and general connection information.

2.4  Website usage information

While visiting the BATTSCAN website we collect IP address, browser type and version, pages visited, time and date of visit, time spent on pages, and referring pages.

2.5  Permissions the Application Requests

Android shows you a list of permissions the BATTSCAN app may request.

PermissionWhy the app requests it

Precise and approximate location, foreground only

Android requires this permission before any app can scan for nearby Bluetooth devices. BATTSCAN needs it solely to find and connect to your hardware device ID#. The BATTSCAN App does not read, store, or transmit your physical location, and the permission works only while the app is open.

Discover and pair nearby Bluetooth devices

To find your BATTSCAN Hardware Device ID# during setup.

Connect to paired Bluetooth devices

To communicate with the BATTSCAN Hardware Device ID# during a test.

Run foreground service

To keep the test running reliably from start to finish.

Prevent phone from sleeping

To ensure the screen and connection stay active through the BATTSCAN diagnostic testing drive cycles.

Full network access and view network connections

To upload BATTSCAN test data, retrieve reports, and verify your subscription.

Run at startup

To restore the BATTSCAN App usage state after the device restarts.

Google Play license check

To confirm the BATTSCAN App was installed through Google Play.

BATTSCAN does not track your physical location. Android simply will not permit Bluetooth scanning without the location permission, so the app has to request it in order to find your BATTSCAN Hardware Device ID#. No location data is collected, stored, or shared.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The BATTSCAN website uses cookies and similar technologies, including web beacons — small electronic files in pages and emails that counts visits, opens, and confirms BATTSCAN systems are working correctly. The BATTSCAN application does not use advertising cookies.

  • Cookie notice cookies (persistent, set by us). Record whether you have accepted our use of cookies.
  • Functionality cookies (persistent, set by us). Remembers choices you make on the website, such as login details or language preference, so you do not have to enter them again.

Most browsers permit you to refuse cookies or alert you when one is set. Blocking necessary cookies will prevent specific areas of the BATTSCAN website from operating.

5. Test Data

All Test data and reports generated from your BATTSCAN Device are available to you. We host and process that data and make it available to you through the reporting portal.

Test records include the vehicle identification number (VIN) and are stored against the account that performed the test. All records are protected accordingly. Access is limited to what is needed to run the BATTSCAN Diagnostic tests and this is made available to you on your account.

We use test data to operate BATTSCAN, to improve the accuracy of our results, and to expand the range of vehicles we support.

If we publish statistics drawn from any test data collected — for example how a particular model year performs over time — we do so only in aggregate form, grouped by make, model, and year; publications do not contain VIN, nothing that identifies you, your business, and if you have entered customer information.

We do not sell any personal or business information.
